If you like helicopter rockets as much as I do, you've just walked into Heaven! QCR’s Ultimate family of rockets represents Ken Brown’s latest thinking on whirlybird design. The “Spinning Hub” idea used for these models improves on the simpler “Rotaroc” design, to arrive at a superior flying machine. In the "Rotaroc" design, the whole rocket rotates in the air while descending. However, in the Ultimate models, the rocket airframe is intended to stay still while the rotors spin.
As with most things in life, there is a price to pay for this quantum increase in performance. These models come with a skill level rating of 4. They are intended for experienced modelers only. In exchange for the increased building complexity, you will experience arrow-straight upward flights and seemingly unending recovery phases. These guys just hang up there! In truth, these rockets would be just as happy competing in the next NARAM as they would be flying in the nearby field next Sunday afternoon!
Ultimate III (24mm airframe) is one of the biggest rocket helicopters on the market today. It is the type of rocket that commands attention. Although it keeps the same rotor size as the Ultimate II, it upgrades the motor mount to 24mm, in order to harness the power of the "D" size engines.
